Overview

Axial Flow Fan: For Ventilation and Cooling, Drying, Air Flow

A fan that uses wing blades (propellers) to generate wind in the direction of its axis rotation.
Because of its large air flow, it is suitable for ventilation and cooling to cool the entire inside of the equipment.
A wide range of products are available to meet various needs, including alarm functions and long life.

Axial Flow Fan

Cooling Medium and Low Density Mounted Equipment

The large air flow of axial flow fans is suitable for ventilation and cooling inside electronic equipment.

Cooling Medium and Low Density Mounted Equipment

Cooling High-Density Mounted Equipment

When the blowing resistance inside the equipment is large, using a large fan with large air flow and high static pressure will save energy and wiring rather than using multiple small fans for cooling.

Functions Can be Selected by Application

Low-Speed Alarm Function (MRS Series, MRE Series)

The alarm output function is activated when the rotation speed drops below 70 % due to unexpected circumstances such as end of service life of the cooling fans or by the ingress of foreign particles, etc.
This makes it possible to replace the fan before it comes to a complete stop.

Speed Control Operation Using an Inverter (MRS Series, MRE Series three-phase power supply input)

Three-phase power supply input products can adjust the air flow by speed control operation using an inverter.
By using ceramic ball bearings, electric corrosion on the bearings due to noise can be prevented.

What is "electric corrosion"

When a fan is connected to an inverter or placed near equipment that generates high frequency signals, there is a possibility that electric current can flow within the bearing due to the influence of electromagnetic noise, leading to the occurrence of wave-like damage on the bearing surfaces.
This phenomenon is called 'electric corrosion' and it can be a cause of abnormal noise and reduced lifetime.

The three-phase 200V specification of the MRS Series* and MRE Series uses ceramic ball bearing in the bearing as a countermeasure against electric corrosion.
Ceramic ball bearing use ceramic as the material for the balls, which is an insulator, preventing the flow of current within the bearing and thereby preventing electric corrosion from occurring (Many fan ball bearings are made of metal).
We recommend using the MRS Series* or MRE Series as a countermeasure against electric corrosion not only when operating with speed control with an inverter but also when used near equipment that generates high frequency signals.

Fan Operation Using an Inverter

Low Noise, Cost Reduction, Long Life

By adjusting the air flow according to the conditions, you can reduce noise and save power.
This also helps to reduce bearing deterioration and extend the life of the fan.

Characteristic Data of Combination With Inverter

Reference data for combinations with inverters from other manufacturers is made available to make it easy to connect to inverters.

Long Life (MRE Series)

Long Life With Expected Life of 100,000 Hours (Approx. 11 years)

  • The temperature rise of the bearing has been reduced, and the deterioration of grease, which affects the lifetime of the fan, has been suppressed.
  • Measures have been taken for longer service life of circuit/coupling and reduction of failure rate.
  • It is designed not only to prevent initial failure, but also to prevent accidental and abrasion failures.

[Expected Life]
It indicates that at least 90 % of the fans will satisfy the following criteria when the acceleration test is performed at an operating ambient temperature of 60 °C.

Criteria (For MRE Series)

  • Rotation Speed (At rated voltage): 70 % min. of rated value
  • Input Current (At rated voltage): 130 % max. of rated value

Longest* Service Life in the Industry

The □250 mm axial flow fan is highly efficient with a winding design that meets the power supply specifications of each country, and suppresses the temperature rise of the cooling fans.
It has achieved the longest* service life in the industry.

  • *Estimated life is 35,000 hours at an ambient temperature of 60 °C. The estimated life is an estimated value calculated using the formula for the life of the bearing grease. The estimated life varies depending on the product name.

Compatible With High Humidity Environments (MU Series moisture proof type)

Excellent Moisture Proofing

Moisture-Proof design prevents humidity from reducing lifetime and generating rust.

Excellent Moisture Proofing

Can be Used in High-Humidity Environments* (*95 % relative humidity, 36 g/m3 absolute humidity)

Can be used in high-humidity environments with 95 % relative humidity and 36 g/m3 absolute humidity, due to moisture-proofing measures.

[Relationship Between Relative Humidity and Temperature]
Relationship Between Relative Humidity and Temperature

Once the absolute humidity is determined, the temperature and relative humidity can also be determined.
Example) When the temperature is 50 °C, it can be used with the relative humidity of about 43 % max.
