Stepping Motors: Are there ways to keep the motor temperature down?
Question 8: Are there ways to keep the motor temperature down?

Answer : There are several ways:

1. Adjust the operating current (a margin of torque must be present, since lowering the current decreases the torque). This suppresses heat generation during operation.

2. Adjusting the 'Stop Current' to a lower value. This surpresses the amount of heat generated when holding the motor in a stop position.

3. Use the driver functions. The “All Winding Off” function suppress heat generation when the motor is stopped. (No holding torque when 'All Winding Off' function is used. If holding torque is required, please consider using an Electromagnetic Brake Type.)

4. Install the motor on a plate with good heat conductivity.

5. Install a fan to cool the motor.
