Stepping Motors: How much accuracy if I am using Stepping Motor with the ballscrew?
Question 5: How much accuracy if I am using Stepping Motor with the ballscrew?

Answer : Accuracy for our stepping motor is ±3 arc minutes (±0.05°). Therefore accuracy for stepping motor with ball screw, we can use the following calculation to calculate.

Ballscrew pitch/lead: 10 mm
Accuracy at load side = (motor accuracy / 360°) x ballscrew pitch/lead
(±0.05°/360°) x 10mm = ±0.0013 mm

Depending on the specification of the ballscrew, you will have different accuracy at load side. Please note that the ballscrew or leadscrew accuracy would not be able to meet the accuracy of the stepping motors. Therefore please check on the screws accuracy. On the other hand, we do have the Motorized Actuator that comes along with our Stepping Motor and Driver. The accuracy for our Motorized Actuator is ±0.02 mm.
