Stepping Motors:We have purchased the AR pulse input type driver, ARD-C. After connecting up the driver to the motor, we have tried to run it but nothing happens. The CW and CCW inputs have been connected to our pulse generator and there is a green light available on the driver.
Question 20: We have purchased the AR pulse input type driver, ARD-C. After connecting up the driver to the motor, we have tried to run it but nothing happens. The CW and CCW inputs have been connected to our pulse generator and there is a green light available on the driver.

Answer : The reason could highly be due to the C-ON input (All windings On input), this input is normally open. Please do ensure that the C-ON input is connected to closed. After which a simple way to check whether this has been connected properly would be to try rotating the rotor of the motor, with the C-ON input closed, the rotor should not be able to rotate.
*In this case, the motor being used is not an electromagnetic brake type. If it is, please do ensure that 24VDC is supplied to the electromagnetic brake, as it is a power off activated braking mechanism.
